Spartan is what its name promises. On the other hand, there are too many weight machines in the basement portion of the facility.

But the price is right.

Also, it can't be located at 166 Coney Island Ave. Maybe 1066, but not 166.

this gym is a fraud. went to sign up for personal training with their in house company Sumpreme Body Fitness. found out the owner of the gym, joe, actually owns with his friend ralph. the trainer consist of him, his friend ralph, and his wife arianna. LOOK OUT FOR ALL OR THEM!!! they are crooks! they are uncertified, inexperienced (his wife needs a trainer herself) and they are posing as a legit training company and trying to charge for it. Stay clear of the whole place.

Let me set the record straight for all the boneheads out there...

1) Spartan Gym is located at 1166 Coney Island Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11230

2) The gym is not a fraud.

3) Supreme (NOT SUMPREME, Learn to spell idiot) Is NOT owned by Joe the owner. It is owned by Ralph (not to be confused with the other three Ralph's that work there behind the counter).

4) As for Arianna, she can probably take you on and two other..

5) Everyone there is pretty much certified. Why don't you ask to see their credentials if you have doubts?

6) If you have the balls to post a comment like this then maybe you should have the balls to use your name. What are you afraid of..

7) Maybe your someone other than a customer. You know a little bit more than a CUSTOMER should know about the owner like who HIS WIFE IS... Not many people know that UNLESS you are affiliated with the gym OR is a long time close relationship member. Hmmmm, could this be a grudge match?

Spartan Gym needs more members. It would also benefit from fewer machines in the basement. There's so many machines squeezed in that place that someone will get hurt soon.

You have to duck and twist and turn to get around all the junk down there and the lights are in your eyes.

For $200 a year, the price is right, but it would be better if there were fewer junky machines in the way.
